Bob Shaut
Resident Composer and Arranger
Bob Shaut is a Hudson Valley-based saxophonist, composer, arranger, and retired music educator best known for leading the jazz ensemble Sax Life and performing with his own quartet since the early 2000s. In 1981 he released the album Shaut’s Thoughts and has since contributed compositions to regional saxophone orchestras and ensembles. Over a long teaching career at Kingston High School, he directed award-winning jazz and concert bands, earning consistent high honors for his student ensembles. Bob has also served as arranger and musical director for family-led community events like the Swinging Moments Cabaret fundraiser, collaborating with his sons and daughter on performances that support local causes
